As you are probably already aware, Disneyland® Paris is inaugurating a great event this year: the first edition of the Disneyland Paris – Val d’Europe half-marathon! Unique events and races for families and children will take place throughout the weekend.
We have had to reorganise some of our hotel services because of this event, especially the transportation. We’ll tell you more!
As you can imagine, the half-marathon route will impact transportation conditions as it runs near the partner hotels and the park. Here is what you should know about the transportation :
Free shuttle service to and from the Disney parks
As you probably already know, a free shuttle service allows you to access the parks from the hotel and vice versa. The buses usually run every 20 minutes on average from 6h 00 to 24h 00. This is bus n° 54. There will be a few modifications on the day of the Disneyland Paris half-marathon, which is Sunday 25 September 2016.
First of all, the first shuttle bus will leave earlier, at 5h 30. The second one will leave an hour later, at 6h 30. These two buses will go directly to the parks. You will therefore be able to access the parks in 15 minutes. No worries then for the runners who are due early on the departure line!
The next buses will have to follow diversions and the length of the journey will be extended. It will take 40 minutes to reach Disneyland Paris. It will be the same for the TGV/RER/Ouigo station of Marne-la-Vallée Chessy. You will need to take into account these longer times so as not to be late if you have a train to catch!
Regarding the schedule, the shuttle buses will pass by the hotels at 7h20, 8h20 and 8h40. From 10h to 12h 30, the buses will pass every 20 minutes or so, still following the diversion.
The rest of the day, the shuttle service will run at the same intervals as usual.
– The shuttle service to Paris airports
No Magical Shuttle bus will leave directly from the hotel before 14h30. If you want to reach the airports before this, you will need to go the Marne-la-Vallée Chessy station (taking into account the modified routes and schedules explained above) from the where the buses will leave. For further information please visit the Magical Shuttle web site or check with hotel reception directly.
– By car
Vehicle traffic will also be impacted by the Disneyland Paris half-marathon. You will not be able to take the usual route to reach the A4 motorway or the Disneyland Paris car park, and will have to follow a diversion.
To reach the motorway, follow directions to Montry on leaving the hotel, and then directions to Crécy-la-Chapelle.
To reach the Disneyland Paris car park, (free for all hotel residents on presentation of a card obtained from reception), also follow directions to Montry, then Magny-le-Hongre, and then follow directions to the Disney Golf Course.
Breakfast, included in all stays at the Explorers Hotel, will be served at the usual time. That is from 7h 00 to 10h 30. For further details visit our La Plantation restaurant web page.
Running the Disneyland Paris half marathon and you have to be at the park earlier? Don’t worry! You can reserve a take-away breakfast. You must reserve this before 18h00 Saturday 24th September, directly from reception or by calling
