On the occasion of the French Fête de la Nature (Festival of Nature) from 18th to 22nd May 2016, we have decided to write articles about our commitment to the environment. Indeed, the Explorers Hotel at Disneyland Paris is aware of its social responsibility and commits itself to respecting the environment with simple and global actions. We are going to make you discover these actions through articles on our website.
At the Explorers Hotel at Disneyland Paris, we commit ourselves to Reduce our waste and increase recycling
- Our waste is systematically sorted for recycling.
- From summer 2016, we will also have dustbins for biowaste. This will enable the hotel to sort our food waste and reduce the quantity of our non-recyclable waste. This biowaste will be processed in a local factory: Juices will be used to fertilise agricultural fields for example and other waste will be turned into compost or fuel (ex: for heating).
- No more plastic cups thrown into the bins near our vending machines! An innovative system to recycle plastic cups from our coffee vending machines and water fountains has been set up in our staff’s break room. Plastic cups can now be collected and recycled.
We do our best to our paper consumption and limit printing
- We work together with two local printing companies (less than 100 kilometres away) that have green labels on all their printing ranges.
- The Explorers Hotel at Disneyland Paris prioritises digital communication: emails, digital booklets, TV or tactile screens have replaced traditional mails or paper leaflets when possible. For example, our guests can be informed about our services by using a tactile screen in our lobby or scan a QR Code available in different places inside the hotel to download all practical information they need.
- We print on both sides of 100% recyclable paper.
- We sort paper and cardboard.
- Our customers’ invoices are sent by email on request and printed at the reception only on request.
- Sheets printed with a little text are given to primary schools so that children can use them as drawing sheets.
- Paper napkins will be replaced with more ecological models with only one fold instead of two.
- All our paper napkins, as well as our toilet paper are eco-labelled.
- Hand-dryers are progressively replaced by electric systems.
We buy in a responsible way and prioritise local providers and ecological products
- We prefer buying returnable bottles (fruit juices, beers, mineral water, etc.).
- Chemical products are bought in special sizes that contain a large quantity or a concentrated product to limit the volume used and to reduce packaging.
