Here is our last article, the third one about our commitment to the environment. In our first two articles, you discovered everything that the Explorers Hotel at Disneyland Paris does to reduce its waste, increase recycling, reduce its paper consumption and limit printing, réduire sa consommation de papier et son utilisation des imprimantes, buy in a responsible way, reduce its water and electricity use and limit air pollution.
This week, in this new article, we are about to share with you what we do to support social actions, and share the ideas that we are currently thinking about and that we would like to implement in the future.
Unfortunately, some of our guests sometimes leave the hotel without noticing thay have forgotten something in their room or in the common areas. We obviously keep all these objects and send them back to our customers when asked. But sometimes these objects are never reclaimed… Rather than keep them into boxes or throw them away, we have decided to give them a second life and to give them to associations.
Lost and found objects (clothes, toys, cuddly toys, etc.) that are not reclaimed by our guests after a year were given to associations twice:

About our commitment, we are constantly thinking about new actions that we could do to go even further. It may be very simple actions to complete other measures that already exist. For example, to continue reducing our paper consumption, we are planning to replace our toilet paper dispenser by more ecological systems, maybe sheet by sheet.
We are also thinking about more original, even unusual ideas! Indeed we could set a beehive over the roof of the Explorers Hotel at Disneyland Paris to produce honey. With professionals, we could offer training and awareness sessions about bees and their importance for the ecosystem several times a year. We are also considering creating a garden with aromatic plants, accessible to our staff and clients, and maintained by volunteers. Produce would be used in our restaurants: at The Plantation (our all-you-can-eat buffet) or at The Captain’s Library, our à la carte restaurant.
